For our patients with traditional Medicare

Our providers do the Welcome to Medicare Exam (IPPE) and the Annual Wellness Visits.  Medicare pays for both of these services.  There are elements for each that we are required to do.  When you check in you will be given some questionnaires to complete.  These are required by Medicare for these types of visits.

If you have any medical problems that the provider addresses during the visit, you may also be billed for an office visit.  Medicare, after you have met your deductible, pays 80% of the Medicare allowed amount for office visits for a problem.

Medicare also covers other preventive medicine services.
You can go to the link below to see what Medicare covers.

The new benefit Medicare offers called the "Wellness Visit" is not a routine, complete history and physical. Medicare still does not cover a routine, complete history and physical.

The Wellness Visit elements are:

•    Medical and family history
•    Height, weight and blood pressure
•    Detection of any cognitive impairment
•    Review of potential risk factors for depression
•    Review of functional ability and level of safety
•    A written screening schedule for preventive services
•    Personalized health advice and a referral to services or program to reduce
     health risks and promote wellness
•    Voluntary advance care planning

If you would like a Wellness Visit, please tell the person who is scheduling your appointment.  Also tell the physician at the beginning of your visit.  The physician may wish to handle your medical problems during your visit and schedule your Wellness Visit at another time.
